Persian cats have always been regarded as rather regal and grand cats. Pedigree Persian cats are large in body structure and have sturdy legs and punched faces with stocky bodies. These cats seem to be a magnet for warmth for those fond of cats and sometimes even for those who are not.
The Persian cats are again categorized into sub families because they are liable to have certain differences in their features. If you look minutely you will not only discover that the color of their coats is dissimilar but there are other differences too. When it comes to Chinchilla breed it has certain individual characteristics that separate them from the rest.
The Persian cats were starting to be exported to USA in’08 when the Chinchilla Cats Club was founded. If you have to know and value whether a cat is a Pedigree Chinchilla cat or not and differentiate it from others, you have to examine its coat as that is the only means by which you will be able to make out the difference. The color of the body hair has distinctions which would show the difference. A pure breed black coated Chinchilla will have only1/7 of its body hair as black.
In general a Chinchilla Persian cat has an undercoat of pure white and the fur on the back, head, tail and flanks is tipped black that gives off a characteristic of a shining silver coat. The legs of these cats can sometimes be slightly speckled with black tips whereas the chin, ear tuffs, chest and stomach are always pure white.
Theses cats get a fascinating look with their dark rimmed eyes which seem as if they are wearing eye makeup. The nose and lips also have black outlines.
The coats of Silver Shaded cats have different color hair tips that give them a shadowy effect. You will see some attractive colors from blue to lilac to chocolate. When you consider both Silver Shaded and Chinchilla the former has more ’shadowy’ coat. The coats have a fantastic mixture of colors giving it more shades than you can imagine.
There are some cats which have variety of shades in their underlying coat which is absolutely wonderful and a treat for the eyes and they are aptly called Golden Shaded. Also there is a breed called Cameo Persian with few red tips on their coat.
The eyes are what the Chinchillas are distinguished with. All the Chinchillas, Golden shaded, Silver shaded and Cameo Persian cats of pure breed will have eyes which are either green or blue green. There is a little difference between the Golden Shaded and the rest of them as far as their rim colors are concerned. While the Golden Shaded would have brown rims surrounding their eyes and nose the rest of them have beautiful dark color rims around their eyes and nose.
